**CASUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY**
**Non-union position
**Position: Casual Arena Attendant/Arena Support
**Reporting to the Supervisor of Facility Operations, the Casual Arena Attendant/Arena
Support Staff will be responsible for aiding in arena operations (ice resurfacing,
custodial duties, & snow removal), and filling in as attendants/operators during staff
absences. In addition, the Casual Arena Attendant/Arena Support Staff position will
support operations during busy times, such as weekends, tournaments, and special
events.
The role should appeal to an individual that takes pride in their work and enjoys
working with the public in a busy, recreational/athletic facility environment. Conditions
will consist of working both independently, and as a team with your fellow arena staff.
Successful applicants will have experience with ice arena operations, and/or
small equipment operation, customer service, basic facility systems knowledge.
**Qualifications**:
- Valid driver’s license;
- Valid WHMIS certificate (or be willing to obtain one);
- Valid First Aid certification (or be willing to obtain one);
- Have a grade 12 or GED equivalent;
- Ability to work with and around the public in a busy environment;
**The following experience would be considered an asset**:
- Custodial experience;
- Experience with ice making/maintenance equipment;
- Infrastructure and building maintenance experience;

**Work Status**: Seasonal casual. Weekly support shift(s) to be expected through
peak arena season (Mid-October to Mid-March). On-call fill-in shifts as needed by
other arena staff.
**Hours of Work**: The arena operates 7 days per week, from 8:30 am - 12:30 am
Monday to Friday, and from 6:30 am - 12:30 am Saturday and Sunday through
the arena season.
Arena work consists of 6, 7, 8, & 10 hour shifts, covering either the
morning/afternoon or evening/night portions of the arena’s operational day.
**Salary**: $21.00/hourly
