**Leading a dynamic organization**
This is a senior management position reporting directly to the Executive Director and promotes the organizational strategic plan and declarations to Truth and Reconciliation, Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity, and French language services.
A Director of Service must demonstrate strong leadership skills and the capacity to influence various stakeholders while acting in accordance with the highest professional standards of integrity and competence at all times. The Director of Service is entrusted to manage and lead the Agency service delivery in a way that promotes full compliance with _C.Y.F.S.A._ legislation, regulations, standards and guidelines, as well as meeting Board and Society standards, policies and procedures.
Furthermore, the Director of Service is responsible for facilitating service that is equity-based furthering anti-oppression practices, to achieve positive equitable outcomes for Children Youth and Families of SDG.
This position could also act on behalf of the Executive Director in their absence.
**Key Qualifications**:
- Knowledge, experience, and understanding of the culture, history and current issues/oppression experienced by First Nations, Inuit and Métis; those of African-Canadian/Black heritage; and other racially marginalized persons in our community.
- Knowledge of First Nations, Inuit and Métis history, people and communities and a demonstrated ability to engage with the communities.
- Proficiency in both official languages is a requirement.
- MSW or equivalent (related to the human services field) with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the human services field including a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a management role.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a unionized environment and participate in the resolution of labor issues.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high standard of privacy and confidentiality in the performance of their duties.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, evaluate, and recognize employees; proven ability to share skills and knowledge with others.
- Excellent ability to collaborate and maintain positive partnerships with all relevant key stakeholders aimed at building strong, sustainable relationships and supporting constructive and creative problem resolution.
- Exercise effective leadership, work well in a team, and work independently with a high level of initiative and self-direction.
- High energy individual with strong interpersonal and analytical skills, as well as public speaking skills.
