Apex Oilfield Services is a privately owned company providing rental equipment, service, and support to the energy industry. As our organization continues to thrive, we are currently seeking an energetic, detail-oriented **Human Resources Assistant** to provide ongoing administrative support to our Health and Safety and Human Resource divisions as we support our Branches.

**Responsibilities**:

- Writing, updating, and posting job ads, shortlisting and pre-screening applicants, making recommendations to managers, and coordinating/scheduling interviews
- Handling new hire coordination, including (but not limited to) conducting reference checks, preparing offer letters, coordinating pre-boarding activities, and executing onboarding and orientation per company processes
- Updating SDS reports and HR forms; ensuring employees are accurately completing HR and HSE documents
- Setting up, inputting, and maintaining employee files and ensuring complete, accurate digital records in ADP and Workhub
- Generating PowerPoints, preparing and distributing communications and meeting minutes
- Remaining current with HR and HSE best practices, policies, procedures and legislation
- Working in collaboration with HSE, HR and Branch Managers to ensure all pre-employment conditions are met
- Answering employee inquiries pertaining to HR and HSE
- Providing additional support as required, including but not limited to data entry, file maintenance, policy and procedure writing and other duties

**Qualifications and Attributes**:

- Post-secondary education in human resources or a related discipline preferred
- 2-3 years of experience within a similar role
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Technical proficiency in writing and reviewing documentation to ensure quality control
- Ability to work independently, ensure efficiency, manage time, prioritize and meet deadlines
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
- Exceptional organization, communication, time management and computer skills
- Experience in an industrial oil and gas service sector environment (significant seasonal recruitment)
- Prior experience with the ADP Workforce Now and/or WorkHub is considered an asset
