St Barbara is searching for great people like you to fill a Permanent full-time unionized role of the Field Technician position at our open-pit gold mine in Middle Musquodoboit, NS. **Compensation and Benefits**
- Rate of pay $30.47
- Healthcare & dental plan (after probation).
- 80 hours per annum of vacation (after probation)
- Overtime hours available

**Schedule**
- Full-time, permanent position.
- Day shift: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
- Night shift: 7:00 pm - 7:00 am

**Duties**
- Ensuring own Health & Safety as well as the safety of all other people, the environment, and the equipment by identifying and maintaining safe work practices and completing all required safety training. Correct threats to health, safety, the environment, and/or the equipment immediately as they arise and report them to the Shift Supervisor, Operations.
- The Field Technician will complete Risk Assessments in line with the St Barbara Health, Safety, Environment and Community Risk Management Procedure(s).
- Assist in all aspects of site activities as directed by the Shift Supervisor, Operations or delegate with an active focus on: Water treatment; Tailings Management Facility (TMF) inspections; Dewatering on site; Pit inspections; Site inspections; Plant checks/tests; Environmental rain checks as applicable; and any other duties as assigned.
- Operating site equipment from time to time, including, but not limited to: Diesel Pumps; Stationary Equipment; Skid Steers; Telehandlers; Forklifts; Excavators; Loaders; Graders; Dozers; Backhoe; Aerial Work Platforms; Scissor Lift; Tandem Trucks; Vehicles with Plow; Light Vehicles; Off Highway Trucks; Articulated Trucks; Rough Terrain Vehicles; Vac Truck, any other equipment as assigned. Always obey all driving rules on site and be aware of surroundings always.
- Inspect equipment prior to use. Report damage or malfunctions of equipment to Shift Supervisor, Operations or delegate immediately.
- Field maintenance on equipment. Completing repairs or modifications related to carpentry, plumbing, and general maintenance work. Responsible for safe use and return of required tools each shift.
- Complete accurately and in detail both daily log sheets and fill out worker logbook every shift. Entering Log Sheets electronically in the system selected for use by the company.
- Offloading and receiving deliveries. Logging deliveries in electronic tracking system selected for use by the company.
- Site clean-up as required, including but not limited to housekeeping, and custodian services.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Behaviour consistent with St Barbara’s Values.
- Valid Driver’s licence, minimum class 5.
- Strong commitment to the safety of people, environment, and equipment.
- Ability to complete daily log sheets and logbooks in an accurate manner.
- Ability to work alone with mínimal supervision.
- Experience in operating equipment, hand tools, pumps etc.
- Willingness to work in a team environment.
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
