**The bigger picture**
We’re looking for a self-motivated and collaborative person to come on board as our Data Governance Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, improving and implementing the data governance program at Conexus while championing and supporting all activities related to the data management knowledge area that are identified in the DAMA framework.
You will bring prior knowledge and skills in planning, implementing and maintaining data governance catalog or automation solutions. As a champion and passionate member of Data Governance Program, you will cultivate relationships and work through ambiguous and competing priorities to advance the data maturity across Conexus.
**How you’ll be spending your time**
- Ensuring the effective operation of the Data Governance Council and Working Group meetings and managing the administrative flow and coordination of submissions and reports.
- Providing guidance and coaching to Data Owners, Data Stewards, and committee members on the data governance processes and the workflows.
- Managing the execution of the Annual Workplan, including all data governance matters in connection with the Data Governance Program.
- Responsible for data quality investigations, data quality improvement, and supporting data stewards in root cause analysis.
- Responsible for internal/external audits to ensure required documentation for pre/mid and post audits are delivered within required timeframes and deadlines.
- Leading the planning of various data governance meetings, planning sessions, quality improvement sessions, and data literacy training.
- Supporting the Team Lead, Data Governance in implementing Data Governance Program by executing delegated operational activities and improving data governance processes.
- Creating, modifying and maintaining data governance automation solutions, which includes:

- Responding to specific requests for data curation, data quality investigations, access management, privacy impact assessment, etc. from across the organization.
- Curating, monitoring and maintaining reports/dashboards to support the data governance program.
- Taking minutes, organizing meetings with data stewards, data owners, and data custodians as part of the data governance program operations.
- Continuously improving existing data governance processes, reports, and policies.

**The way people describe you**
You are skilled and knowledgeable about all things data governance, including best practices, methodologies and standards. You have exceptional problem-solving skills and are analytical and results oriented. You also have excellent facilitation, communication and organizational skills.
**The experience you bring**
- 5 - 7 years’ work experience in information technology, project management, business analysis, data analysis, analytics, or technical governance required.
- Prior experience in data stewardship processes such as creation and maintenance of data glossaries, data dictionaries, and data catalogs is required.
- Experience building data governance structures or organizing steering functions would be an asset.
- Relevant post-secondary education in computing science, information technology, business, or related field.
- General experience in the financial services, insurance, or retail industries would be an asset.

**Salary Range**:
$82,090 - $109,450 with 13% Short Term Incentive Target
