**POSITION FUNCTION**:
The HR Generalist is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day HR operations such as drafting employee contracts, support, coordination and administration of employee benefits and leaves/accommodations, hiring and recruitment, training, and other ad-hoc tasks and projects. This role is also responsible for accurately updating employee data on applicable systems and communicating changes to the appropriate internal and/or external stakeholders.

**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide Hiring and Recruitment support:

- Draft contracts and amendments while assessing risks and ensuring consistency within the established deadline
- Communicate changes in employee’s employment status with internal and/or external stakeholders in a timely manner (e.g., payroll, insurance carriers)
- Maintain up-to-date job descriptions while ensuring accuracy and consistency and assist with editing/review process as required.
- Assist in the administration of employee benefits
- Work closely with HR team members to respond to employee inquiries and questions related to leaves
- Prepare sick, maternity/parental, and other leaves of absence communications as applicable with payroll staff, supervisors, and the 3rd parties involved regarding employee’s leaves and benefits (e.g., workplace accommodations, gradual return to work plans, ongoing communication)
- Read, understand, apply, and help review MOSAIC’s HR policies and practices to maintain compliance with employment standards, human rights, etc.
- Track work permits, study permits, and criminal record checks, to ensure compliance with the relevant legislation and guidelines
- Be the main contact for general HR inquiries or requests, answering questions or forwarding them as appropriate
- Keep internal HR forms up-to-date
- Draft employment verification letters
- Maintain personnel files and related HR documents
- Provide support as needed with other projects
- Other duties, as assigned by the supervisor

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post-secondary education, degree, certificate, or diploma in human resources management, business management or administration, social sciences, and/or a combination of comparable experience or education
- Knowledge of HR issues, practices, and procedures, BC employment standards; Human Rights, WorksafeBC regulations, workplace accommodations experience and/or disability management;
- English communication skills and other languages are an asset
