Location: This role can be located in Regina or Saskatoon.
Work Location: This role is eligible for hybrid work. This means you’ll have the flexibility of working from home and in the office (Regina or Saskatoon) on a scheduled rotation.
Key Accountabilities
Employee Safety- Leads, develops, implements, oversees and maintains the Health, Safety and Emergency Management Program and related standards and policies.- Assists in leading the development of the Corporate Safety strategy.- Provides direction and support to management for OH&S regulatory compliance.- Builds and fosters collaborative relationships with internal and external partners to promote a positive safety culture.- Participates on corporate committees to provide perspective on health, safety, and emergency management issues (e.g., threat assessment, emergency management team and incident management teams).- Leads contract management with vendors and/or suppliers for equipment or services required for corporate safety programming.-
- Researches and reviews OH&S standards and best practices, keeps abreast of changes to acts and regulations and recommends new and innovative safety initiatives.
Business Continuity Management (BCM) Program- Assists in leading the corporation in development, implementation, and maintenance of the BCM program.- Leads business impact assessments (BIA).- Leads business continuity plan (BCP) development.- Identifies risks and mitigating strategies.- Supports in leading the Operational and Tactical teams in executing response plans.- Supports corporate solution and recovery strategies.- Leads training, coaching, and education activities for Operational and Tactical teams.- Supports annual validation activities.- Research and reviews BCM standards and best practices, keeps abreast of changes to BCM programming and recommends new and innovative initiatives.
Compliance Audits, Incident Management and Reporting- Prepares the corporation for audit processes.- Oversees and supports the incident management process for Occupational Health and Safety and Business Continuity.- Develops, implements, and maintains key data, metrics, and reporting related to the Health, Safety and Emergency Management Program.- Compiles and prepares data for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and analyzes data and statistics to identify opportunities for improvement.- Supports management teams in developing response strategies for incidents.
Safety Education, Training, and Culture- Develops training, workshops, and information sessions to provide management, committees, and employees with the information necessary to prevent occupational incidents and/or injuries and implement corporate safety programs.- Ensures managers, employees and contractors are aware of and comply with their responsibilities under all existing legislation and corporate standards.- Responsible for developing and implementing programs to enhance safety culture (e.g., surveys, communication strategy, leadership culture development).- Responsible for leading psychological and physical safety efforts as they relate to diversity, equity, and inclusion, LCD, and mental health.
People Leadership- Builds a high performing workforce by actively leading human resource activities.- Ensures development of divisional succession plans.- Builds a culture of leadership and accountability to effectively deliver on strategic and corporate strategies, ensuring integration with employee performance development and career development plans.- Drives performance through team members and is committed to leadership development across the company, supporting employees and workforce readiness through mentoring, coaching, training, and developmental opportunities.
Corporate Management- Ensures programs and policies are in alignment with corporate, strategic, and divisional strategies.- Manages risk in area of authority.- Prepares, reviews, manages and/or approves departmental/divisional budgets.- Prepares decision requests, decision and/or information items and/or SGI board items.- Ensures that the Health, Safety and Emergency Management Policy is applied in area of responsibility, including development, implementation and managing of program components specific to departmental health and safety requirements.- Makes decisions for departmental operations that are efficient, effective and in alignment with strategic direction and priorities.- Ensures department and program policies, procedures and guidelines comply with applicable federal and provincial legislation and regulations; implements and evaluates changes to legislation and regulations in area of authority.- Establishes and maintains an effective system of internal controls to suppor
