**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Duties**:

- Generation Asset Management (GAM) develops and manages strategies to ensure we invest the
- right amount of money in our generation assets at the right time. With roughly $5B in generating
- station capital projects underway and proposed to start over the next 5-years, the investments
- GAM initiates have a significant impact across the business. We are looking to fill the role of
- Manager, Generation Asset Management with someone who demonstrates the following

Responsibilities of the Generation Asset Management Team Include:
- Lead cross-business engagement to develop asset management strategies that establish

transparent linkages between BC Hydro’s strategic/business plans down to specific generation
- asset investments and operations & maintenance plans- Develop and maintain capital investment plans and annual project release schedules that are

consistent with system operation objectives and resource availability- Represent Integrated Planning as the Initiator on generation capital projects to ensure

successful delivery and alignment with established strategies- Communicate complex strategies and plans to multiple user groups within and outside of BC

Hydro- Lead and own Generation Asset Management continuous improvement initiatives to improve

team processes and/or processes/interfaces with other teams across BC Hydro.

Duties of the Manager include:
- Oversee the development and continuous improvement of facility asset plans which define and

document the long-term outlook for BC Hydro’s generating facilities, ensuring relevance to key
- business and system operations objectives.- Ensure appropriate governance is applied to the development of asset investment strategies and

plans and guide/oversee presentation to senior management for endorsement.- Ownership of the Generation capital plan including leading collaboration with cross-business

stakeholders to ensure a defensible plan that considers key business objectives and constraints,- Shared ownership of the asset management system and content across Stations Asset Planning

and Asset Planning more broadly.- Actively communicate and collaborate with managers across the business (e.g. GSAP, SAP,

Integrated Planning, CIPD and Operations) to advance strategies, plans and projects in a way that
- meets key business objectives.- Oversee the development and review of high quality investment summaries to support the 10- year plan and the release of next-year projects from Planning to Delivery.- Ensure the GAM team effectively fulfills the role of active initiator on capital projects (providing

adequate planning input and oversight through the project lifecycle) and personally act as initiator
- on capital projects as required.- Play a leadership role in the preparation of evidence for key regulatory filings and play an active

role in the response to Information Requests.- Ensure the tools and information systems are in place and sustained to support strategic

planning activities.- Establish and measure performance expectations and provide timely feedback to the GAM team.

Responsible for the coaching, mentoring and development of GAM team members.**Qualifications**:

- University degree in engineering, business or related discipline.
- 12+ years relevant experience including recent experience managing, mentoring or coaching

professionals.- Proven ability to think strategically and independently, to highlight improvement opportunities,

and drive change.- Demonstrated ability to develop and adhere to robust plans, while being flexible enough to adapt

to sometimes rapidly changing business needs and timescales.- Strong inter-personal / relationship skills, and an ability to work collaboratively and effectively

across many different layers and levels of the organization, including all areas of Stations Asset
