The Surgical Assistant position is an integral part of the practice, providing excellent care for patients, and assisting the physician with exceptional precision within the surgical team.

**A Day In The Life of A Surgical Assistant**
- Assist the physician in providing quality care to patients
- Surgical responsibilities include:

- Assist during basic skin surgeries and laser resurfacing procedures
- Administer numbing agents
- Place and cut sutures
- Prepare patients and rooms for procedures
- Support with patient transportation, if necessary
- Examine patients, collect, and update health histories and convey discharge instructions
- Document, process, and track patient and procedure information in electronic systems
- Obtain appropriate consents
- Wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and sanitizing and cleaning respective areas as needed
- Support the physician and patient from the start to the end of the surgical experience _(even if the procedure takes 60 minutes and requires standing to do a manual skin retraction for the entire time)_
