_Morningstar Golf Club, a premier year-round golf course on beautiful Vancouver Island, is located in Parksville, a seaside community about 25 minutes north of Nanaimo. The Les Ferber designed course has been designed to offer a fun challenge for golfers of all skill levels. The fairways and greens have been carved out of a natural woodland area with sloping fairways, rolling undulations, well-conditioned greens, and strategically placed bunkers._

We are currently seeking **Player Assistants** who will join the Golf Operations team to help members and guests successfully and enjoyably complete their round of golf at Morningstar Golf Club. Our Player Assistants are responsible for helping groups maintain their pace of play so they can finish their round within our 4 hour and 15 minute “Time Par”. Player Assistants help groups by providing information about pace of play and the group’s position on the course and, if necessary, and requesting groups adjust their pace if falling behind or out of position. Our Player Assistants will also, as necessary, remind groups of our course policies or rules to ensure everyone respects both the course and other players. At the same time, our Player Assistants understand that the goal of all interactions is to ensure all members and guests feel welcome, valued, and eager to return. Our Player Assistants are diplomatic, level-headed, and calm as they support a wide variety of player abilities and personalities throughout the day and have a genuine interest in helping all members and guests enjoy their Morningstar Golf experience.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Demonstrate excellent communication and social skills being friendly, outgoing, approachable, and genuinely interested in establishing positive relationships and providing excellent experiences for Morningstar members and guests.
- Demonstrate excellent diplomacy and conflict de-escalation skills while interacting with groups of golfers with varying golf experience, needs, and personalities
- Demonstrate comfort and attentiveness driving a golf cart around a busy golf course
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the game of golf, rules of play, and league/tournament formats.
- Be self-motivated, able to work alone and/or unsupervised, but also as an engaged member of the Morningstar Golf Operations team.
- Having experience in customer service and course marshalling is considered an asset to the role

**Salary and Benefits**
