Laboratory/Quality Manager
**Job Description**:
Job Summary:
The Responsibilities of the Lab/Quality Manager are to ensure that the laboratory is running efficiently and effectively without any testing errors. The Lab Manager must be able to manage the lab employees, make sure all materials are tested properly; all equipment is calibrated regularly, in charge of maintaining lab cleanliness, and in charge of research and development. Other responsibilities include being able to delegate tasks, utilize interns for research, develop new procedures that help with efficiency and be in charge of training new lab employees on our testing and procedures.
The overall goal of the Lab manager is to reduce the number of Quality Control mistakes throughout the company
**Primary Responsibilities**
- Manage current lab employees; go over daily reports to ensure all paperwork is filed and filled properly; compose and review a weekly report summary
- Conduct daily tests of machinery to ensure qualification and calibration; perform a daily maintenance of the calibration log
- Be in charge of melt testing schedule with the goal of maximized efficiency
- Conduct daily research on lab standards, product development, lab certification, and more
- Implement the steps of lab certification according to ISO standards
- Ensure that all lab technicians follow the Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
- Implement new machinery and procedures; follow amendment to testing procedures

Perform a monthly plant walkthrough to evaluate performance quality and assess the need for improvement
- Create a cleaning schedule for the lab facility to ensure the lab is maintained clean and organized at all times
- Lead the progressive growth of the laboratory

Education & Qualification: *
- The mínimal educational requirement for this position is a Bachelor’s of Science (BSc) Minimum of 5 years relevant experience managing a laboratory
- Experience in quality control and/or quality assurance
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a performance-focused and results-oriented environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others
- Structured thinking and analytical capabilities
- Strong work ethic and determination to achieve success
- Knowledge of plastic and raw materials is an asset

**Training**:

- No specific training is required as everything can be taught on premise or learned through experience

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Experience with Lab equipment is required
- Experience with Plastics is a bonus not a requirement
