**POSITION**:Public Service Clerk (Comp. #2024-100, Comp. 2024-101)**

**LOCATION**: Ingersoll Library Branch or Tillsonburg Library Branch

**EMPLOYMENT STATUS**: Permanent Part-time (up to 20 hours per week)

**REPORTING TO**: Community Librarian

**UNION AFFILIATION**: Non-Union

**WAGE RANGE**: $24.55/hr - $30.69/hr.

**POSITION** **SUMMARY**:
Under the supervision of the Community Librarian, the Public Service Clerk provides high level customer service, promotion of library literacy-based programs and resources, readers’ advisory and information requests for customers of all ages and backgrounds. This includes those that may be living with a disability, addiction, mental illness, experiencing homelessness or have other complex needs.

All Oxford County Library (OCL) employees are responsible for supporting the Library’s Mission, Vision and Values and providing Oxford’s communities with excellent, responsive services in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Must be available to work daytime, evening, and weekend hours.

**QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS**:

- Secondary school graduate or equivalent. Post-Secondary Education considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience providing inclusive customer service. Previous library experience is an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience in a customer service environment considered an asset.
- Ability to demonstrate the required competencies for this position in alignment with Oxford County’s competency framework.
- Ability to interact respectfully with a variety of community members and groups, including those that may be living with a disability, addiction, mental illness, experiencing homelessness or have other complex needs.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Access to reliable transportation required.
- Acceptable Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
