**Wedding/Event and Sales Coordinator - The BackyardLocation**: Saskatoon, SK

The Backyard is a locally owned and operated venue offering both indoor and outdoor spaces for events, and we take great pride in being one of Saskatoon’s premier wedding destinations. We are passionate about creating unforgettable experiences for our clients and are seeking a highly organized, personable, and motivated Event Coordinator to join our team.

This role offers flexibility, with some remote work options and a schedule that adjusts to meet client demands, particularly during our busy season (May-October). Evening and weekend availability is required.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Lead venue tours for prospective clients looking to host weddings or special events at The Backyard.
- Oversee rental agreements, deposits, and final payments for events.
- Conduct final check-in calls with clients in the lead-up to their event, ensuring all details are confirmed.
- Hire, schedule, and manage event staff and commercial cleaners.
- Maintain open communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless event execution.
- Build strong partnerships with vendors to expand and improve The Backyard's offerings.
- Provide support across various areas of the business as needed.

**What You’ll Need**:

- Ideally, 1-2 years of event planning experience or a similar background.
- Experience in bar and/or restaurant service is considered a strong asset.
- Proven ability to manage event logistics, problem-solve, and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks while maintaining high service standards.
- Basic understanding of financial and administrative processes.
- Motivated, flexible, and able to thrive in dynamic environments.
- Proficiency with Google Docs, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and a willingness to learn new tools.
- Flexibility to adjust your work hours to meet client needs, especially during peak seasons (May-October), including evenings and weekends.

**Physical Requirements**:
This role involves moderate physical activity, including standing or walking for extended periods during events and tours. It may also require lifting and carrying event-related items (e.g., chairs, tables, archways) and working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

**Compensation**:Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a commission-based bonus.
