Purpose:
The Measurement Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining, and ensuring compliance with measurement requirements for the Alberta operating area. This role ensures adherence to Veren’s standards and regulatory requirements set by the Alberta Energy Regulator. The specialist will support field measurement operations, optimize measurement systems, and act as a key liaison between multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities & Activities:
- Maintain and validate field measurement schematics.- Oversee and update field data capture and SCADA systems.- Ensure new and existing measurement devices meet facility and measurement design standards, are correctly configured, validated, and are integrated in maintenance systems.- Provide support for sampling and analysis and meter maintenance programs.- Validate, update, and maintain fuel/flare/vent, gas composition, density, shrinkage, expansion, meter and other factor data within measurement and reporting systems.- Work with Production Operations, Engineering and Accounting to ensure monthly balances and prior period adjustments are acceptable.- Assist with investigations related to measurement discrepancies.- Maintain compliance with corporate and regulatory measurement requirements.- Provide relevant technical assistance for the Management of Change process and design reviews.- Contribute to OPEX and CAPEX budget planning for measurement-related infrastructure.- Assist in and/or supervise contract work within the Production Operations group troubleshooting, repairing, upgrading, or making changes to existing infrastructure.- Effectively communicate measurement priorities and requirements across teams.- Work closely with the Environmental team to ensure overall emissions reporting compliance, and to meet the requirements of the Technology Innovation and Emission Reduction (TIER) program.- Review and remediate compliance assessment indicator items.- Assist with the Enhanced Production Audit Program (EPAP).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must be a Certified Instrumentation and Control Technician or Instrumentation Engineering Technologist.- Minimum 5+ years related experience in the Oil & Gas industry.- Strong knowledge of gas and liquid measurement design, standards, and regulatory compliance.- Experience with SCADA and other systems for oil and gas production, monitoring, and processing.- Ability to analyze, validate, and optimize measurement data for accuracy and efficiency.- Strong problem-solving skills with sound judgment and decision-making capabilities.- Knowledge of installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of measurement systems.- Field data capture experience would be considered an asset.-
- Ability to work independently and initiate multiple priorities with mínimal supervision.- Team player with a strong desire to learn, contribute, and drive continuous improvement in measurement practices.- Demonstrated technical skills applicable at both corporate and field levels.- Displays a positive attitude, resilience, and serves as a role model within the team.- Highly organized and analytical, with strong attention to detail.- Safety training up to date including: First Aid/CPR, H2S Alive, TDG/WHMIS and Fire Extinguisher- Training and Defensive Driving.- Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
