We are recruiting for Host / Server Assistant. This dual role allows for a diversified work experience. We are looking for someone who presents themselves as polished and professional, as well as warm and genuine. You will be the individual that sets to the tone for the experience yet to be uncovered by our guests.

**Responsibilities**:

- Offer a warm genuine greeting to our guests upon arrival
- Adhere to steps of service set forth as host/ serving assistant
- Review reservations upon start to familiarize yourself with the expected guests and seating plan
- Be an expert of the Carver’s menu offerings understanding the preparation methods, pairings of food and ingredients as many of our in-house guests may inquire of our offerings before securing a reservation in the room
- Have an understanding of the cocktails and beverages offered in the room
- Engage guests in conversation as you seat them in the room and ascertain if there are any special occasions to take note of - communicating that to the server and Floor Supervisor
- Be confident in introduction of their server who will take care of them
- Utilize the computerized reservation system to manage tables and seating
- Assist in table maintenance as necessary as well as set and resets to expedite and anticipate next seating
- Ability to utilize point of sale to assist in closing of bills
- Ensure cleanliness of restaurant
- Take guests coats and secure as necessary; also obtain upon their departure
- Ensure you are thanking each guest as they depart
- Ensure menus, wine list, cocktail lists are kept clean and tidy
- Be a team member by supporting and recognizing efforts of your team
- Strong effective communicator not only with servers, but also supervisors and managers
- Assist in stocking service areas
- Ensure all end of shift duties are complete

**Qualifications**:

- Attentive, engaging, and social
- Professional appearance, warm and genuine
- Must be 19 years of age or older in order to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Must have your Serve it Right SK certificate
- Ability to present yourself in a professional manner while being warm and genuine
- Willingness to learn about food, beverage and wine knowledge

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week
