Pipe Shop and Yard Worker

Flocor Inc., is subsidiary of Deschenes Group Inc. and a leader in the industrial pipe, valve and fitting distribution industry. We are searching for a Pipe Shop & Yard Worker for our Winnipeg Warehouse site. The individual is responsible for the daily fabrication of pipe using a combination of manual and mechanical means.

This position is responsible for preparing pipe as per customer order requirements through a fabrication process which may involve cutting, threading, grooving, drilling or adding components to pipe. This position is also responsible for bundling and loading pipe on trucks, ensuring the pipe shop and yard areas are kept clean, ensuring all documentation associated to the fabrication process is complete and assist in the warehouse as required/requested.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Responsible to review customer fabrication requirements, retrieve correct material using order pick ticket and fabricate according to order specifications (cut, thread, groove, drill or install groove products such as snap or mechanical tees)
- Responsible to ensure order is complete, report any shortages, discrepancies or problems to supervision, bundle and load onto trucks as required/requested, complete and file documentation
- Responsible to maintain all equipment in good working order, ensure pre-start up checklists and maintenance checklists are completed; communicate mechanical/maintenance issues to supervision
- Responsible to ensure pipe shop and storage yard is properly maintained in a clean and orderly manner; products, materials and machinery are moved and stored in a safe fashion
- Responsible to participate in and promote the Company Health and Safety Program; to undertake training as required/requested; to ensure adherence to all Health and Safety guidelines

- Participate in warehouse physical inventory
- Assist customers at warehouse sales counter as required/requested
- Other duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum 1 year experience in warehouse environment, preferable with experience in fabrication and operating mechanical lifting devices. Background knowledge in mechanical/industrial pipe, fittings and water works is an asset
- Secondary school diploma and/or a combination of education and experience
- Must be physically fit (walk, lift, climb)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter, well organized with ability to multi-task and work with changing priorities and mínimal supervision
