Crossroads Hospice Society is seeking a **Volunteer Coordinator** who will lead with heart and ensure our incredible volunteers feel supported, valued, and engaged. This role is central to the compassionate care Crossroads Hospice Society provides, coordinating and inspiring our dedicated team of hospice visiting volunteers, while also working closely with our interdisciplinary team to support patients and families with compassion and dignity.

**About the Role**

Reporting to the Hospice Manager, the Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, educating, scheduling, and supporting volunteers who provide companionship and compassionate care to patients and their families during their time in hospice. This includes managing the calendar of special programs offered within the hospice.

You will also coordinate volunteer events and gatherings, helping to create an inspiring, warm, inclusive environment.

As the liaison between Crossroads Hospice Society and the Fraser Health team, you will communicate key information to the volunteers so that they can carry out their role with empathy, sensitivity, and respect. This role blends heart and organization, and is ideal for someone who enjoys planning, connecting with people, and contributing to meaningful work.

**Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education in a related field (ex. Social Work, Volunteer Management, Human Services) _**OR**_minimum 2 years of experience in volunteer coordination, people management, human resources, or a related role - preferably within a non-profit or community-based setting.
- Comfortable navigating digital tools and technology in a work environment.
- Strong computer literacy, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and platforms.
- Available to work occasional evenings and weekends (training, events)

**Key Responsibilities**
- Recruit, train, and coordinate a team of hospice visiting volunteers
- Facilitate Hospice Volunteer Training Programs
- Develop volunteer schedules and match volunteers thoughtfully with community patients
- Support volunteers in their role
- Collaborate closely with the medical team to ensure consistent support
- Provide support to the main office with community events, as needed
