**Afterschool Animators**

**Status**:Hourly, Seasonal

**Start Date**:August 28, 2025

**Working Hours**:Monday to Friday; 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm

**Description**:
We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible **Afterschool Animators** to join our dynamic team for the 2025 - 2026 school year. Reporting to the Afterschool & Co-Curricular Coordinator, Animators are responsible for planning and leading a variety of engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote creativity, collaboration, and physical movement. Working directly with elementary students, they play a key role in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where children can build friendships, develop new skills, and enjoy meaningful experiences beyond the classroom.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead and supervise indoor and outdoor activities (e.g. sports, games, crafts) that promote creativity, teamwork, and movement.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where students feel respected and supported.
- Take attendance, monitor transitions, and perform regular head counts to ensure student safety.
- Stay aware of students’ medical or behavioral needs and respond appropriately when required.
- Enforce school rules fairly and consistently, modeling respectful behavior.
- Maintain and organize materials and equipment; report any issues as needed.
- Supervise students during PED day outings, encouraging safe and responsible behavior.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth daily operations and a positive group dynamic.
- Communicate with families and staff to support student needs and transitions.
- Show initiative and adaptability in supporting the evolving needs of the program.

**Skills, Experience and Attributes Required**:

- Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Early Childhood Education, Community Recreation Leadership Training or Special Care Counselling.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with children in animation, recreation, or educational setting.
- Familiarity with basic first aid procedures; certification is considered an asset.
- Strong English languages skills; French is an asset.
