**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Position: SCREENPRINTING MACHINE ASSISTANT**

**Reports to**: Conversion Supervisor

**Direct Reports**: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

**Position Summary**:
This role provides support and assistance to the Screen Printing Operator in the production of laminated extruded plastic sheet and cardboard sheet products. You will work as a member of a team, in order to maintain the company’s goal of 100% on time delivery to our customers.

**Position Duties**:

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the set up the Machine following work instructions outlined in the Quality Plan.
- Produce all products within specifications and times allowed.
- Neatly pile conforming products on skids for movement to the next phase of the production process, or to the shipping department, according to the production schedule.
- Remove and identify non-conforming products in order to ensure quality standards.
- Place non conforming product and other waste in appropriate containers for disposal.
- Assist with changing material (Ink, Screens, Squeegee, etc.), as required.
- Move full skids of converted product to appropriate areas, as required.
- Inform Conversion Supervisor of any defects, breakage and/or down time on the shift.
- Perform regular production area clean up during and at the end of each shift.
- Complete and submit maintenance requests when necessary.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Participate in continuous improvement activities as required.
Adhere to Quality standards and procedures.
- Special projects and other responsibilities as may be determined.

**Education**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent.

**Experience**:

- 2 -3 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous machine operator experience preferred.

**Licenses/Certificates**:

- Forklift License Required (must attain and maintain).

**Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Mechanically inclined.
- Have excellent math and measurement skills.
- Acute vision and color identification.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

**Working Conditions**:

- This job is performed in an industrial environment, and generally requires 75% standing, 25% walking. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling may be required from time to time.
- Regular exposure to dust, fumes and noise can be expected.
- Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, are required.

**Hours of Work**:

- Regular working hours between 28 - 44 hours per week. Schedule will vary to meet production requirement.
- Friday (3:30 pm
- 7:30 pm), Saturday and Sunday (7:30 am -7:30 pm), and optional depending on business needs, Tuesday and/or Thursday (7:30 am - 3:30 pm).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: From $19.77 per hour

Expected hours: 28 - 44 per week
