**TRADES INSTRUCTOR POSITION**

**Position Overview**:
The Trades Instructor is responsible for the preparation, instruction and evaluation of trades training programs to ensure occupational competency for LiUNA Local 1611 members. Our members work primarily in heavy construction in the building of roads, utilities, dams and tunnels, pipelines and high rises. The Trades Instructor plans, implements and manages differentiated instruction in a range of health and safety related and skills upgrading courses that develops student abilities and enables students to be competent in their occupation.

**The Opportunity**:
We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Instructors who have strong communication and interpersonal skills to become integral members of our team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide members with the training that will upgrade their current skillset through classroom and practical instruction.
- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials training aids and exams.
- Develop and revise curriculum.
- Evaluate student progress/performance and competency in related skills.
- Administer and adjudicate exams.
- Engage in various forms of professional development.

**Qualifications**:

- Current Red Seal Certification, Professional Instructor Diploma (PID) or a commitment to obtaining their TQ or PID.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant construction sector.
- Strong presentation and public speaking aptitude.
- Safety consciousness.
