**Summary**:
The financial coordinator is dedicated to ensuring the seamless and efficient delivery of financial services. Key responsibilities include reporting, payments, invoicing, and providing financial oversight and guidance.
Embedded in an assigned portfolio and collaborating closely with the finance strategic business advisor (SBA) team, the financial coordinator ensures adherence to proper financial procedures. Activities may include assisting with preparation of financial statements and other internal or external reports, completion of accounting processes such as variance analysis and reconciliations, and participating in the review and enhancement of current business processes and practices in addition to other assigned projects or duties.
The financial coordinator employs a combination of university acumen, functional knowledge, and strategic approaches to participate in the development and implementation of financial processes
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Assists with budgeting, forecasting expenditures, financial reporting and analysis and fund reviews
- Participates in the development and communication of best practices and process improvements, particularly in regard to financial operational policies and procedures
- Prepares and completes internal and external client invoices and processes the related payments including cash deposit reports
- Coordinates the financial aspects of Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) filings and payments
- Oversees the annual insurance billings
- Prepares and submits journal vouchers to maintain accurate financial records
- Conducts thorough reviews and makes necessary corrections to financial transactions
- Ensures invoices, payments, reimbursements are processed accurately and in a timely manner
- Facilitates payroll corrections and other corrections with appropriate stakeholders
- Processes procurement transactions, including p-card purchases, invoice payments, and purchase order (PO) management
- Prepares and submits new fund and org request forms, as well as maintains current fund information
- Documents processes and procedures and maintains records
- Fosters strong working relationships with a variety of diverse stakeholders across campus including leaders, staff, faculty, and service centre partners
- Assists with ensuring financial activities comply with legislation, general accounting principles, agreements with external parties, and internal policies and procedures
- Assists with special projects as required
- Communicates and acts in a respectful and professional manner, collaborates effectively, abides by policy, and contributes to a positive and productive work and learning environment

**Qualifications**:
- A Bachelor of Commerce degree with an accounting major is required
- Three to five years of accounting experience is required
- Experience with budgeting, accounting and payment services is preferred
- Knowledge of accounting procedures and protocols, budget administration, and financial forecasting, analysis, and reporting
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, prioritizing effectively while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to exercise discretion and professional judgment in maintaining confidential information
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to take initiative, be self-directed and exercise diplomacy in solving issues
- Strong evidence of relationship building, ability to work collaboratively, with polished presentation, written and interpersonal communication skills

**Salary**: The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $53,091.00 - 82,954.00 per annum. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
