As a certified dental assistant ( CDA ) your goals:
will be coaching patients on the road to improved dental health. Your metrics of success is measured by your great communication skills that empathize, engage and encourage the patients to decide the best route for better dental health.

Certification from an accredited Canadian school of dental assisting

Licensure with the British Columbia College of Oral Health professionals as a CDA with active practice of all certified dental assisting skills that differientiate you from just chairside assisting

Self
- sufficiency and self-motivation with a contributions toward total team work

Leadership qualities

Previous experience in dental assisting

Self-starter with great organization skills

Strong communication skills both written and verbal

Excellent working knowledge of dental software Tracker
- Responsibilities_

As certified dental assistant you will be continuously learning in your field of expertise with adaptation. Application of your unique CDA skills are expected in day to day activities as a team player. New skills sets are to be learned and embraced.

Other responsibilities include:

- protecting and providing a safe, clean and comfortable environment for your patient
- being your best in showing the patient the best hospitality, compassion and care
- strong communication skills both verbal and written
- attention to detail and good ability to follow instructions
- self motivation with a view for good leadership skills
- self motivation with inclination for mentoring
- assisting the dentist at chairside and being the liaison from reception to the operatory
- educating patients on oral hygiene care and post-operative care.
- ability to take digital radiographs/ orthopantogram / cephametric radiographs and do digital photography
- ability to digital scanning with the intra-oral scanners
- ability to take alginate impression with bite registration
- ability to make whitening trays
- ability to place rubber dams
- being a helping hand as part of a team assisting with sterilization procedures and operatory set up and clean up.
- proficient in dental record keeping and management of electronic charting nuances
- ability to take on sundries and consumable orders as necessary.
- assist with laboratory procedures including pouring up stone casts from alginate impressions /trimming models/ bleaching tray fabrication/ custom tray fabrication
- manage appointment scheduling and invoicing at chairside as required.
- perform limited receptionist duties including scheduling appointments ,managing patient records; taking payment; working knowledge of insurance benefit rules.
- provide support to the front desk team as needed with good working knowledge of Word and Excel
- additional asset with interest in Social media posting

The position entails Mondays except where stat holidays fall on the Mondays.

Minimum 4 years CDA experience.
