This position is deemed as a **Safety Sensitive Position** as work is completed in variable weather temperatures and adverse weather conditions, working at extreme heights from 170 - 320 feet above the bridge, and in confined spaces below the bridge or in the bridge towers. A critical accountability for this role is following HHB Safety standards, policies and processes, including but not limited to: completing job hazard assessments, wearing required Personal Protective Equipment, ensuring proper access of confined spaces, reporting safety observations, and being able to rescue co-workers as necessary.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Follow HHB safety policies, procedures, Safe Work Practices, and Safety reporting standards.
- Follow HHB's quality control and productivity standards for the Maintenance Painting Program.
- Set up and tear down of workstations, submit job hazard assessments and safety reports, clean and inspect painting tools and equipment, and secure tools and equipment in storage.
- Complete job-related safety training and skills development as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Able to work in a **Safety Sensitive Position**, in adverse weather conditions, at extreme heights (170 - 320 feet), in direct traffic, in confined spaces, and actively participate in high angle rescue.
- Experience working with power hand tools
- Ability to work independently and still get the job done efficiently
- **Must pass a physical demands test and a lead level test, as conditions of employment.**:

- Must have satisfactory results of employment reference checks and a criminal background check, as conditions of employment.
- Able to work in an efficient and safe manner while exhibiting pride in quality work.
- Experience in working in a team environment.
- Punctual and dependable with a can-do attitude.

**Assets**
- Previous experience working in a unionized work environment
- Clean driving record and valid Class 5 Nova Scotia's Drivers License (abstract will be required).

This is a full-time, temporary seasonal position, working 40 hours per week from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday throughout HHB's summer season. Overtime will be required based on operational demands, including on weekends. The hourly wage for this position is $23.04 during the probationary period as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
