The primary role of the Physician Assistant (PA) will be to participate in the assessment and care of patients admitted the hospitalist service, under the supervision of the attending physician. All activity will be under the direct supervision of a physician and within medical directives endorsed by the GBGH Medical Advisory Committee (MAC). PAs are health care providers that have the knowledge, skills, and experience to work as part of a physician led team in a variety of inpatient clinical units. In general, PA’s will have the skills and experience to deal with multiple medical problems, medical emergencies, and everyday health care needs of hospital patients. Clinical competencies are central to the function of PAs who will continuously demonstrate the hospital’s core values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.
