MLW and Co., Chartered Professional Accountants is a busy mid-sized firm of 6 partners, with two offices located in Victoria and on Salt Spring Island. We offer our clients a full range of accounting and tax services. The Victoria office is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, seeking a career in public practice, to join their team on a part time basis, 2 to 3 days per week. The Administrative and Accounting Assistant will be responsible for office and accounting support services. Standard hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm, with overtime expected in March and April. Hours can be negotiated based on individual circumstances.
- Bookkeeping and data entry
- Assisting in the preparation of personal, corporate, estate and trust tax returns
- Front desk and phone reception
- Filing documents and office organization
- Supply orders, courier, and mail distribution
- Other general administrative and accounting related tasks

**Skills and experience required**:

- Knowledge of office and administrative procedures
- Efficient speed and accuracy in data entry/keyboard skills
- Experience with Caseware, Profile, Sage and QuickBooks is an asset
- Ideally, a minimum of 2 years experience working in a public practice accounting firm
- Knowledge of general accounting principles
- Adherence to high standards of professional and ethical conduct
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Well organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Self-motivated, while being a team player.
- A fast learner with an analytical mind
- Able to multi-task and prioritize to meet regular deadlines

Pay: $39,000.00-$44,850.00 per year
