This is a pivotal time for a Chief Administrative Officer to support North Saanich as it sets a vision for the future of the community, ensuring Council, the staff team, and community partners are able to work together collaboratively and effectively.

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) reports to Mayor and Council, and acts as the nexus between District Council and the civic administrative staff. They will be accountable for reflecting a community-centric approach in the strategies, business plans, programs, and services that align with Council’s priorities, and will influence an organizational culture that promotes teamwork, innovation, and a results orientation. The CAO will also play a role externally across the community with partners such as neighbouring local governments, the Capital Regional District, local First Nation communities, the Victoria Airport Authority, BC Ferries, provincial and federal bodies, and other various entities affecting the District.

Your senior leadership experience in a community that ideally straddles urban and rural components is augmented by a relevant degree.

The _District is part of the Capital Regional District, supports a significant amount of agriculture, and is home to major entities such as the Victoria Airport Authority, BC Ferries, the Canadian Coast Guard and other agencies._
