The Assembler is responsible for performing assembly activities following engineering drawings, specifications, policies and procedures. Assists during machine testing and make adjustments as necessary.
**Specific duties and responsibilities include**:
- Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
- Coordinate, assemble, fit and install pre-fabricated parts and sub-assemblies to form completed system while maintaining high quality levels.
- Use hand and power tools as well as material handling equipment, such as cranes and forklifts, to fit and install parts and sub-assemblies.
- Review parts received for quality and accuracy to the bill of material.
- Responsible for reporting problems or issues as well as non-conformances to assembly team lead.
- Verify specifications by measuring completed components.
- Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
- Markup/Red line drawings and submit to engineering for “as built” drawings.
- Suggest modifications or changes to parts or procedures for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues, report, repair and/or correct the issues with mínimal supervision.
- Work closely alongside the electrical technicians to ensure sub-assemblies are completed both mechanically and electrically before being installed onto the equipment for maximum assembly efficiency.
- Provide mechanical support to the electrical designers during functional tests of complete systems.
- Demonstrate superior housekeeping in work area.
- Keep and record on time sheets accurate record of time spent on jobs.
- Understand and follow all health and safety procedures including safe operation of equipment.
- At times it may be required that you take part in and manage onsite service, training and commissioning.
- 5+ years of experience in an assembly and manufacturing environment.
- Proven knowledge and skills in the following areas: pneumatics, hydraulic and mechanical
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and/or engineering drawings
- Proven experience using hand tools
