**Duties and responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Program Manager and under the direction of the Senior Supervisor, the ABI Employment Specialist develops, implements, and adapts individualized vocational plans with clients, provides job development services and supports to clients and employers to support long-term employment success.

Duties include:

- Developing, implementing, adapting, and monitoring individualized plans
- Identifying appropriate work placements or job opportunities that match a client’s interests and skills
- Performing workplace assessments as necessary, and providing on-going support to participants and employers as required to help maintain employment
- Scheduling job coach support as needed including giving direction to Mentors and supervising any Mentor interventions in the workplace
- Promoting the program to other service providers and potential participants

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Human Resources, Marketing, Business, or related discipline or equivalent combination of knowledge and experience

**Experience**:

- Three to five years of related work experience
- Experience working with individuals with an acquired brain injury would be considered an asset

**Skills**:

- Knowledge of the issues faced by persons with disabilities
- Ability to meet deadlines and projected targets
- Strong customer service and sales skills
- Effective interpersonal, communication, organizational, problem-solving and computer skills
- Knowledge of community resources, the present job market and experience in community job development
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with consumers, employers, referral agents, and colleagues
- Access to a personal vehicle and valid driver’s license
