Residential House Manager

At OIB Child and Youth Services we believe that all children and youth should have the opportunity to live in a safe and nurturing environment. We provide all-inclusive care in a residential setting to children ranging in age from 6-12 years old. Staff at OIB provide a high level of care and support impacting the development and well-being of the youth in our homes.
**Role Overview**:
Under the direction of the Executive Director of OIB, the Residential House Manager oversees the operation of one of our residential homes and assigned staff. The Residential House Manager provides direction and supervision to staff, maintaining consistent standards to ensure services and related programs align with OIB policies and procedures.
The Residential Manager must collaborate effectively within the OIB organization and externally with the child’s care team.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provides leadership and management in the delivery of residential care for children
- Supervise, train, orientate, mentor and evaluate staff
- Approve, coordinate, and manage work schedules, and assigned duties
- Plan, direct, monitor and evaluate the group home program and assigned staff
- Ensure adherence to OIB policies and procedures
- Assist with the hiring of new staff and addressing issues as they arise (disciplinary, attendance management)
- Informing the Directors of any issues that could impact the operation of the organization
- Evaluating staff and ensuring appropriate staffing needs are met as per guidelines
- Participate in the development and maintenance of the house budget
- Ensure adherence to the Provincial Child Abuse Standards
- Maintain a working knowledge and be familiar with child welfare policy and procedures
- Ensures accuracy, confidentiality and safekeeping records
- Understand and implement Policy and Procedures regarding employee and employer rights
**Education, Training and Qualifications**:
Post-secondary education in Human Services i.e. Community, Family and Child Services, Mental Health, Early Childhood Education or equivalent combination of education, training and experience with a combination of Leadership and Management experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in a Supervisory role
- Direct experience in child welfare/protection services
- Excellent supervisory, planning, organization, problem-solving, decision making and inter-personal and leadership skills
- Sound knowledge of risk assessments, crisis management and de-escalation skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Clear criminal and background check
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training
- Food Safe Level 1
- Negative TB Test
- Covid-19 Vaccinated
- Office computer literacy skills such as Office 365

Pay: $29.00-$34.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
