The Community Support Worker position is the front-line position working with a team for persons with complex needs. They are part of a team that ensures the individual has a high quality of life in areas including daily living, recreation and leisure, and community inclusion.
- **In your role you will**:_
- Assisting with maintaining a good home environment for the client and staff
- Supporting G-tube feeding for the client and or mobility assistance
- Researching activities
- Connect with and develop helping relationships with individuals with complex and challenging behaviours.
- Work effectively as a team with the individual and their support team to help achieve their goals
- Evaluating the needs of clients
- Act as an advocate for individuals when needed
- Completion of daily documentation
- Support and participate in recreation and leisure activities
- Assist individuals to discover and participate in leisure time activities.
- Provide support and assisting clients in the development of healthy life and social skills
- Participate in on-going program development
- **Education**:_
- Health Care Aid Certificate required
- Mobility assistance required
- Experience with G-tube feeding an asset
- **Mandatory**_ _**Training & Clearances to be provided before starting**:_
- Criminal record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search (within the last 6 months)
- Intervention Record Check (within the last 6 months)
- Standard First Aid with CPR (min. Level C)
- Strong English skills are required
- Driver’s Abstract (within the last 6 months)
- Proof of Auto Insurance with 2 million liability
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license and driving experience of 3 years in Alberta
- **Preferred**:_
- G-tube experience and or training an asset
- Experience working in a residential and group home setting is an asset
- Suicide Awareness or Suicide Intervention training
- Cultural Awareness training
- Medication administration training
- Positive Behaviour Support training
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training
- **Required **:_
- Strong English skills
- Reliable vehicle
- Willingness to transport clients in own vehicle
- Computer skills
- Canadian 2 year or higher post education in the human services field of practice
- Trauma informed

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 - 40 per week
