ARCP is a large heavy civil construction contractor based in Dartmouth, NS. We are looking for an experienced Fleet Manager to be responsible for overseeing all transportation related activities. The successful hire will possess exceptional leadership & analytical skills, maintain the company's high standard of customer service while making a positive contribution to the Operations team.

**Requirements**:

- Grade 12 high school diploma and a valid NS driver’s license.
- Minimum 5 years managing in the transportation industry & experience operating heavy equipment.
- Keen working knowledge of the National Safety Code & other applicable government regulations.
- Solid understanding of the transportation industry and logistics.
- Flexible availability needed for occasional weekend & evening work as required.
- Strong written and oral communication & ability to use computers an asset.
- Critical thinking, leadership, conflict resolution & can work with a team to navigate stressful situations.

**Responsibilities**
- Directing scheduling, dispatching, routing, re-routing, and tracking of transportation vehicles.
- Planning, organizing, and managing subordinate staff members to ensure work is completed and consistent with the company's policies and standards.
- Managing drivers, including onboarding new drivers and performing road safety driving evaluations.
- Monitoring completion of pre-trip inspections & incident reports.
- Promoting safe work activities by conducting weekly toolbox talks, related safety paperwork & audits.
- Leading investigations to resolve driver safety issues, behaviour complaints and incidents.
- Arranging and overseeing repairs and routine maintenance of transportation vehicles. Assist in writing specifications for new transportation vehicles including pricing and sourcing as required.
