**What do we do?**
Bartek manufactures Malic and Fumaric acid and high purity Maleic Anhydride at their plants located in Stoney Creek, Ontario. We are a food grade manufacturer and global distributor of our products.

**What are we looking for?**
Bartek is seeking a Production Supervisor for their Maleic Anhydride plant in Stoney Creek, Ontario. This facility utilizes the latest in butane catalytic conversion technology in a Bartek-designed plant and refining process.
Reporting to the production manager, the production supervisor works in conjunction with other plant departments to facilitate ongoing projects and plant improvements.

Supervisory experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is required for this role. A 4th Class Power (Operating) Engineer ticket is desired but not mandatory. However, if you are hired, you will be expected to work toward this certification.

**Position Description**:

- Implements and ensures staff adheres to plant health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times to secure a safe and efficient workplace.
- Provide total area leadership in the attainment of goals with respect to quality, cost, production, and compliance.
- Review, interpret and evaluate process performance data and implement any changes to maintain optimum performance of all process areas.
- Oversee daily work permitting for assigned areas.
- Record and troubleshoot process deviations in order to return and maintain plant peak efficiency.
- Support process/product improvement programs and provide process method excellence throughout the organization.
- Deliver and enforce daily/weekly/monthly department objectives and communicate them to personnel.
- Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities, communicating schedules, and outlining duties.
- Monitor the work of employees, provide feedback, and perform coaching or counseling when possible.
- Interface with other departments, contractors, and vendors to assure requirements are met on time.
- Prepare and submit daily reports on production, individuals, and overall shift performance.
- Train, develop, and provide ongoing leadership and direction of assigned personnel.
- Maintain focus on continuous improvement through effective leadership.
- Solve problems as they occur in a reliable way.
- Support Production Manager in the strategic planning of manpower, equipment and other resources.

**Abilities & Requirements**:

- Minimum four years of experience in a Chemical Manufacturing environment
- Minimum two years of experience in a supervisory role with as many as six direct reports per shift
- 4th Class Power (Operating) Engineer ticket or higher required
- Familiar with Distributed Control Systems
- Experience with Learning Management Systems, Convergence considered an asset
- Working knowledge of HSE reporting systems, Velocity or similar platform.
- Ability to effectively work within and lead teams to troubleshoot and problem solve
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Able to work both indoors and outdoors, year-round, on rotating 12-hour shifts
