**Job Description - **Mortgage Underwriter/Fullfillment officer

**Responsibilities**
- Prepare mortgage commitments
- Maintain service levels in an environment of high volumes and the demands of customers.
- Interact with brokers and clients to negotiate mortgage approvals
- Obtain and review required documentation to ensure that documentation adheres to company policies and guidelines and follows up with clients for outstanding conditions; and,
- Stay current with lending guidelines, industry knowledge, competition & market trends
- Negotiate mortgage terms (where applicable)
- Verify accuracy of supporting employment, down payment, appraisal, and financial documentation received
- Identify escalation items and work in conjunction with the underwriter or Fulfillment Manager to resolve them;
- Maintain confidentiality of all client information and files at all times
- Build and maintain exceptional customer service levels
- Other duties as assigned

**Experience**
- Familiarity with mortgage process documents (e.g., Mortgage Statements, Purchase & Sale Agreements, T4As, T1s, NOAs, Tax Bills, and Insurance Policy documents).
- Experience with Microsoft Suite (e.g., Word, Excel and Outlook), Adobe Professional, Windows File Manager.
- Mortgage experience would be an asset.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
