**Job Summary**

The English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program Coordinator assists the Head of Academics in the management and coordination of TSoM’s English for Academic Purposes program. The EAP Program Coordinator will work closely with the academic and student services team to ensure excellence in EAP academic quality and support for teachers and students.
**Responsibilities**
- Bring excitement, enthusiasm and commitment to the EAP Program.
- Plan, prepare and teach well-developed lessons to students.
- Manage and maintain EAP courses on Learning Management System and troubleshoot for students and teachers when needed.
- Assist in orienting new departmental faculty and serve as a mentor in the implementation of effective teaching skills.
- Involve in instructor induction and maintain records of instructor observation & appraisal.
- Liaise with student services for routine monitoring of attendance, student integration, student progression, disciplinary matters and provide strategies for problem-solving.
- Assist with student registration records, enrollment, and aligning with course timetable.
- Advise and deliver effective learning environment using available resources incorporating various teaching/learning methods to meet the course objectives.
- Manage lesson planning, assignments, class management and overall course assessment of the students’ work while ensuring students’ awareness of course objectives and scoring rubric.
- Engage students by tutoring and academic counselling while evaluating students’ progress and achievement.
- Oversee the assessment process for all instructors including internal and external verification processes in association with QA team.
- Participate in faculty meetings, orientations, graduation exercises, and other functions as directed.
- Ensure all educational activity is conducted in a legal and ethical manner.
- Challenging ideas, encouraging students to develop skills and knowledge in critical and rational thinking.
- Participate in professional development activities and programs as required by accreditation/regulatory agencies.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
**Position Requirements**
**To be successful in the EAP Program Coordinator position, the individual** **must possess**:
- Degree in Education, Linguistics, Pedagogy or equivalent required, Masters is an asset
- TESL Certification recognized by Languages Canada
- Over five years’ experience teaching ESL/EAP
- Experience with ESL curriculum development focusing on English for Academic Purposes
- Experience coordinating international student programs
- Previous curriculum and program development experience is considered an asset
**Knowled**ge and Skills**:
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent technical skills and working with Learning Management Systems.
- Experience with instructor training.
- Demonstrated experience in leading a team of educators.
- Experience in teaching, supervising student work, and providing support and feedback is highly desirable.
- Ability to communicate complex information to a range of diverse students both orally and in writing.
- Project and time management skills to organize and manage work independently.
