**What you will do**:
The Manager, Person-Centered Cancer Care is accountable to the Clinical Director, Cancer Care for the management of people, processes and operations at:
- The Psychosocial Oncology Program at The Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre (TOHCC) and the Irving Greenberg Family Cancer Centre (IGFCC)
- The Maurice Grimes Lodge located on the Civic Campus
The Manager also leads the development, implementation and evaluation of plans to realize the objectives of the Ontario Health Cancer Care Ontario (OH-CCO) Indigenous Cancer Strategy, Patient Education, and Patient Experience. This is achieved through building relationships, and in collaboration with First Nations, Inuit and Metis partner agencies, equity-deserving groups and community members, the multidisciplinary care team, patients and their family members and is reflective of the continuum of cancer care from prevention and screening to survivorship and palliative care.
With the ultimate goal of improving patient engagement and experience with cancer care, the manager will work closely with the interdisciplinary team as well as patients and family members through providing administrative leadership and support to the Cancer Program Patient and Family Advisory Council to ensure that the voice of patients and their families is at the heart of the provision of world class cancer care, exceptional service and compassion.
**What you will bring**:
- 4-year Undergraduate Degree in Health, Social Sciences or Education;
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a health care environment;
- Minimum 3 years' leadership experience;
- Experience in working independently and effectively managing multiple priorities;
- Expertise in project planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting;
- Knowledge of the health care environment and the cancer system;
- Knowledge of principles of management and leadership;
- Knowledge of statistics and ability to analyze fiscal and patient care data;
- Demonstrated understanding of PFCC core principles and best practices;
- Demonstrated knowledge of principles of adult education and innovations in the field;
- Knowledge of community engagement principles and ability to work collaboratively and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
- Familiarity with the historical and contemporary issues facing Indigenous patients and their families with respect to cancer care;
- Positive interpersonal skills and professionalism;
- Proven ability in working effectively with all members of the health care team;
- Project management skills including the ability to define objectives, identify stakeholders, and coordinate and allocate resources in a timely manner;
- Demonstrated initiative, autonomy, problem solving and concern resolution skills;
- Demonstrated leadership and the ability to facilitate change;
- Effective presentation skills;
- Excellent oral and written communication.
**You will stand out with**:
- Master's degree in Education, Nursing, Social Work, Health Management or other health-related field;
- Previous experience implementing patient and family centered care strategies;
- Previous experience working on patient education related initiatives;
- Proficiency in English and French oral expression (advanced level and comprehension (advanced level).
