The Operations Division supports the Toronto Community Housing vision and mission through nurturing revitalized communities and tenants by providing programs, services and partnerships aimed at the needs of children and youth, working families, under/employed youth, seniors and other vulnerable tenant populations. The Division does this through tenant engagement, accessing services and spaces, integrating healthy communities, providing supports for seniors and vulnerable tenants, economic development programs and corporate sponsorships/partnerships.
In the Tenant and Community Services Program Coordinator, Youthworx program, you will be working with the Supervisor, Active Living and Centralized Programs in order to connect the youth in our communities to employment and employment programs
**What you’ll do**
Staff Management
- Support, coach and develop staff team to meet program deliverables
- Supervise youth staff, including monitoring and addressing performance
- Schedule youth staff, including approving time off ensuring proper program coverage
Program Coordination and Implementation
- Coordinate activities needed to implement program plans while maintaining high standards of service excellence.
- Support the implementation of all Programs and Partnerships programs
- Facilitate program evaluations
Communication, Documentation and Customer Service
- Conduct community outreach through a variety of means to announce and promote programs and recruite program participants
- Liaise with local engagement and asset team staff to ensure work plans and schedules are clear
- Provide feedback to Supervisor for program improvement and innovation
- Document programs for the purpose of showcasing flagship activities to the organization and public
- Coordinate and schedule timely communication of program timelines and schedules within the internal and external partners.
- Respond to inquiries.
Workplace and Program Space Safety
- Support Supervisor in ensuring safety of program/work spaces and locations, reports deficiencies for timely follow-up
- Provide feedback to Supervisor for program improvement and innovation
- Monitor staff compliance with related process and procedure manuals related to programs
Program Inventory
- Coordinate the logistics needed to ensure efficient program delivery such as moving supplies, purchasing ordering supplies and equipment
- Ensure inventory is monitored and maintained at adequate levels to support program needs
Staff Professional Development
- Identify and communicate staff training needs to the Supervisor.
- Assist with the development, implementation and delivery of staff training and workshops
- Assist by providing input into staff performance review
**What you’ll need**
- A post-secondary degree/diploma in social sciences including children and youth work, social work or working towards completion of degree/diploma, or other related discipline or equivalent work experience
- High Five Certification Principles of Healthy Child Development an asset
- Knowledge of community development, demographics and the related social economic realities of diverse groups
- Experience in the development and implementation of youth economic development programming (financial literacy, entrepreneurship, employment readiness)
- Experience in supervising, leading or overseeing frontline programs and staff
- Extensive experience working with youth ages 14-29
- Directly related experience working with and engaging at-risk and marginalized communities
- Sensitivity to ethno-racial and equity issues
- Strong organizational and administrative skills (including keeping and reconciling inventory, logistics)
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective problem solving and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and plan projects
- Ability to work flexible work hours is an asset
- CPR/First Aid Level C is mandatory
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Valid Class G Ontario Driver's Licence is considered an asset
