Assistant Catering Manager

Carleton Dining Services is looking for a Assistant Catering Manager to join our Team. Reporting into the Catering Manager, this position supports the Catering team to complete events or catering delivery requests in line with customer expectations and service standards.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for overseeing execution of functions, inclusive of delivery of prepared food and set up of events
- Delivers consistent quality in planning and carrying out events
- Develops and maintains effective client and customer rapport
- Ensures all contractual obligations of contract are met
- Works with the Catering Manager at client meetings in determining floor plans, rentals, and staffing
- Resolves customer concerns in a timely manner
- Supports meetings with the Catering Chef to plan menus for clients, special events
- Conducts weekly meetings with Catering Team
- Manages hourly staff and provides leadership
- Oversees staff training and conducts hourly performance reviews
- May support the hourly recruitment process
- Manages progressive disciplinary process with assistance from Catering Manager
- Supports inventory process
- Ensures proper cash handling procedures are followed
- Supports Marketing initiatives
- Verifies payroll
- Maintains vehicle inspection reports

**Qualifications**:

- Prior experience in a management or supervisory role preferred
- Previous experience in events, hospitality and catering preferred
- Available to work event-based hours
- Must have excellent communications skills
- Complete Food Handlers and Alcohol Service Certifications as required
- Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lb.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time

This position requires a valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
