Grove Park Home is a not for profit and charitable organization that is comprised of 143 Long Term Care Beds, a boutique retirement property, and an Adult Day Program. The Life Enrichment staff reports directly to the Director of Programs and Volunteer Services. The Life Enrichment staff is accountable for the provision of a range of rehabilitative and leisure programming that meets the residents physical, social, and emotional, spiritual and intellectual needs. These programs must be of high quality, evidenced based, and provided in a manner that is consistent with Grove Park Home’s Vision and Mission Statements, the Long Term Care Guidelines and other applicable regulations and guidelines.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Completed or working towards a degree, or diploma in Rec and Leisure or Social Services and Gerontology.
- Experience working with the elderly and cognitively impaired
- Must be computer literate and experience on Point Click Care, RAI-MDS would be a definite asset.
- Initiative, creative, strong organizational skills, well developed communication skills
- Must be able to work independently and also be a strong team player
- Must be available for days, evenings and weekends
- Class “F” license, and/or musical ability, and/or dementia experience an asset

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**:

- Provide care in manner which respects the Resident Bill of Rights
- Assist with Resident Admission/Orientation and transition to a new environment
- Document on the resident health care record as per policy and procedures
- Participate in the development of the care plan with the multidisciplinary team ensuring that it reflects the values and preferences of the individual
- Responsible for three scheduled programs daily in a full shift, and the preparation, set up, transportation, clean up and follow up required as written in the program description forms
- In consultation with residents, staff and volunteers design, implement, and evaluate programs
- Set leisure goals for residents individually that are documented on the care plan, updated quarterly or more frequently if required
- Utilize the care plan to provide direction in the provision of care and programming
- Facilitate positive relationships between and among residents, their family, the staff and the community
- Provide resident centered care, encouraging resident/designate representative participation in care decisions
- Promote and respect each individuals preferences, strengths, social and personal resources, interests, and needs, and document these preferences
- Provide assistance to other staff and/or volunteers with implementation of programs
- Facilitate, support and assist residents in their orientation to person, time and place through the participation in activities
- Facilitate and encourage independent functioning and self care as appropriate
- Ambulates/mobilizes/transfers/ROM as required for each individual utilizing good body mechanics and adhering to the identified level of assistance (may increase level of assistance, but never decrease without a thorough assessment)
- To assist residents to and from programs
- Facilitate, support and assist residents in the use and maintenance of their sensory and communication aids, and other assistive devices/equipment as necessary
- Collect measures and records resident information as required
