The Town of Battleford is currently seeking a Saskatchewan Water Treatment II, Water Distribution II, Wastewater Collection II, and Wastewater Treatment II operator to join our Utility Department. This position is a vital role in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Town of Battlefords water and wastewater systems which includes technical operations, maintenance, and repair of the Town’s utility infrastructure. This includes ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of all related equipment, facilities, and services. The position requires technical knowledge and the ability to work independently with mínimal supervision

This position is open to male and female applicants and is covered by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Local No. 3003 Collective Agreement.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Operations: _
- Operations and maintenance of the department’s water and wastewater facilities such as but not limited to: Water plant(s), Booster Stations, Reservoirs, Bulk Water Station, Sewer Lifts, and Sewage Lagoons
- Maintain and operate equipment such as but not limited to: trucks, jetters, boilers, lab/test/safety equipment, and portable/non-portable units
- Operation of water supply, treatment, distribution, metering, repairs, and appurtenances.
- Maintain and operate sewage collection, treatment, repairs, and appurtenances.
- Documentation: _Research and prepare reports, daily log sheets, and data readings as required by the Utility Manager.
- Reporting:_ Submit requisitions and provide recommendations for improving the utility systems.
- Training: _Assist with the training of new employees, ensuring they understand operational procedures and safety protocols.
- Compliance:_ Ensure compliance with OH&S regulations, company safety policies, and water/sewer regulations.
- Additional Duties: _Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Utilities Manager or designate.

**Qualifications & Requirements**:

- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Current Saskatchewan certification in Water Treatment II, Water Distribution II, Waste Water Collection II, Waste Water Treatment II.
- Ability to: adapt and take constructive criticism, effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, read maps, field drawings, and plans.
- Maintain a valid Saskatchewan Driver’s License Class 5 or better
- Dedication to safety measures and best practices
- Willingness and ability to: Work evenings, weekends and Overtime as required. Work in Sewage related tasks and confined spaces. Train and orientate other staff as required. Accept direct responsibility charge as directed
- Lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time.
- Work individually as well as part of a team.
- Record keeping
- Current WHMIS, First Aid & CPR, Confined Space, H2S
