Job Title**:Communications/Digital Content/Social Media Coordinator**

Location**:Sutton, Ontario**

Salary Range**:CAD 18.00 - 20.00 hourly**

Category**:PTE 15-18 hours weekly**

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Communications Officer/Program Coordinator is responsible for producing, distributing and collecting information about the Georgina Centre for Arts & Culture and its programs to the media, members, volunteers and the general public. This is accomplished through the production of marketing collateral such as digital content such as newsletters, advertisements and announcements to promote exhibits, workshop, events and all public programs.

Is responsible for managing, coordinating and overseeing of planning, implementing, marketing and evaluating different program and projects.

Manages the information for the website, coordinates content creation for the Centre’s social media channels, and where applicable, with any additional Communications tasks. The position works in close collaboration with Executive Director and the Program and Volunteer Coordinator. This is not a remote work position and requires weekday and some weekend shift(s) at the Centre, however there is some flexibility with days.

**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

Creates with approval of the Executive Director a social media strategy relevant for strategic goals

Coordinates the overall editorial, production and distribution of the digital content from start to finish

Prepares designs and coordinates all publicity and promotional materials related to exhibitions and events, including press releases, invitations, e-newsletter material and signage

Develops contacts and solicits reviews of events and exhibitions.

Acts as liaison with the media and provide all necessary information and assistance.

Maintains an up-to-date database of media contacts

Develops marketing campaigns for individual programmes and exhibits and supports featured Artists

Maintains a unified brand through the consistent production of print and electronic materials;
Contributes to the development of our visual identity & brand

Maintains the currency and style of our website and contributes to the planning and direction of the website, ensuring consistency and currency and performing updates.

Maintenance of E- Commerce and Inventory in collaboration with the Information Attendant

Designs, or supervises the design of, promotional material on all programmes and services offered at the

Centre.

Distributes brief information (listings) on programs and creates data base of sites and media to post and promote

Maintains accurate photographic records of all exhibitions and events.

Researches relevant and informed media strategies and outlets.

Assists with any task related to the organization’s activities as requested by the Executive Director.

Maintains and creates content for the Georgina Centre for Arts & Culture social media accounts for

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tic Toc, You-tube, Eventbrite, Meetup, etc.

Sets content deadlines for staff & works to ensure all materials are produced in a timely manner.

Other duties as assigned.

**REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES**

Combination education and professional experience in the broader Arts, visual/Media Arts, Cultural

Studies, Communication Studies, Journalism or other related fields

Demonstrated knowledge of the principles, practices and objectives of programming in community arts spaces

Experience in the fields of communications, marketing and graphic design

Excellent oral and written communication skills; very strong knowledge of English language required;
Ability to conceive, write, edit and disseminate original content

Video production, photography skills & editing a strong hiring bonus.

Excellent computer skills; knowledge of social media and basic knowledge of website development required; including creating original online content

Familiarity graphic design programs, digital platforms, podcasts and online content

Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to multi-task; attention to detail essential

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Meets or exceeds service standards when interacting with customers in the community and in the organization

**Job Types**: Permanent, Part-time
Part-time hours: 15-20 per week

**Salary**: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
