**What the day will look like**:
As an Investment Consultant, you will help empower and deliver results for our clients by providing innovative and effective solutions within our Investment Consulting business group within Aon Solutions Canada. The Investment Consultant will deliver investment consulting material and advice to institutional clients.
You will support an array of investment consulting projects including designing, coordinating, preparing and delivering analytical consulting assessments. This role is part of our dynamic team, focused on results and that brings their experience as strategic consultants across all asset classes. You'll be tasked with:
- Providing consulting support services and technical support on a range of Investment clients and accounts; including pension and benefit plans (DB and DC), insurance funds, trust and endowment funds, and other special purpose funds;
- Proactively developing solutions to meet client needs in partnership with the Account Executive/lead Consultants; and
- Recommending ways to enhance the value Aon brings to the client based on a deep understanding of the client's business and insight into industry and investment trends.
- Manage a small portfolio of diverse Institutional clients;
- Contributing to raising the quality of various client results;
- Assisting in preparing and communicating effective oral presentations to clients, as part of a team or individually; and
- Working with other professional advisers, both internally and externally (i.e., record keepers, investment managers, etc.) on institutional investment funds across Canada; and
- Providing guidance and support to more junior Investment Consulting colleagues as they serve their clients, ensuring high standards of service.

**Skills and experience that will lead to success**:
- 5 + years of experience in a financial / investment consulting environment;
- Understanding of written English, bilingualism (English and French) in writing and speaking is an asset
- Thorough understanding of the institutional investment industry and investment industry acumen and processes. Ideally gained from taking part in a manager research, fund management, investment consulting or in a plan sponsor role;
- A strong understanding of investment concepts and the financial markets;
- Knowledge of the Canadian pension fund market;
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical decision-making skills in developing solutions for complex clients/business issues;
- Adopts entrepreneurial and creative spirit in work;
- Detail and results-orientated; able to work independently on various projects, able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment and meet project timelines;
- Strong technical expertise and the proven ability to remain current with respect to investment industry trends, activity in the market, provincial and federal legislative policies and changes;
- Strong analytical skills; accuracy and attention to detail;
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
- A standout colleague who can work with different individuals; and
- Must have a positive outlook combined with a desire to contribute to the success of Aon.
**Education**:
- Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Actuarial Science, Finance, Commerce or a related field, or equivalent years of industry experience;
- Commitment to professional development; and
- Completion of an MBA or CFA is preferred.
