The role will support various accounting and reporting tasks related to financial processes and liabilities. This role offers hands-on experience in accounting, financial reconciliations, variance analysis, and journal entry preparation. The student will engage with multiple finance groups, business units, and external customers, gaining a comprehensive understanding of financial operations within a large organization.

Possible Placement:
- Corporate Controller- Sox Compliance / Internal Audit- Treasury- Tax (CAN, International, Commodity, Indirect & Property Tax)- Operational Accounting

We offer both January and May 2025 start dates, along with various term lengths (4, 8, or 12 months), please indicate your preferred start date and term length in the screening questions.

What you’ll do- Assist in performing key accounting tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.- Support the preparation and consolidation of financial reports and statements.- Conduct inventory reconciliations and prepare adjustments as necessary.- Research and resolve financial discrepancies, respond to queries, and follow up on outstanding issues.- Prepare and maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and other financial records.

Who you are- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes.- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial record-keeping and reporting.- Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with finance teams and business units.- Ability to work collaboratively within a team, supporting various financial functions and projects.

Qualifications-
- Available to begin work in January 2025 or May 2025- Previous experience using SAP would be an asset

Education- Must be enrolled in a business degree focused on Accounting or Commerce at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term Submission
