Supervise the activities of the production department and ensure follow-up in order to optimize available resources according to established priorities
- Actively participate in the preparation and weekly deployment of the production schedule
- Ensure compliance with the production schedule (Manufacturing/Packaging) and proper coordination of activities with the Warehouse and Quality Assurance departments
- Actively participate in the investigation and/or analysis of process deviations in order to define and participate in the development of preventive / corrective measures
- Ensure that all operations are carried out in accordance with work instructions, standard operating procedures and batch record rules
- Participate in the closing of production files and perform computerized transactions required to maintain inventories
- Provide documentation support in accordance with current GMP standards and procedures
- Review production documents once manufacturing is complete
- Supervise, improve and control operational flows
- Optimize operations to reduce losses and ensure that established standards are met or exceeded
- React proactively to operational problems and take preventive measures against their recurrence
- Ensure that employees under his/her responsibility are trained on new work procedures in compliance with GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Manage and monitor employee training and performance appraisals
- Notify the production manager of any problems, anomalies or process changes.
- Ensure that production room cleaning tasks are carried out according to established frequencies and that appropriate records are properly documented
- BSc in Science or Chemical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of five (7) years of manufacturing or packaging experience in a GMP environment is required
- Experience in a Health Canada or FDA regulated environment preferred
- Five (5) years supervisory experience
- Experience with an ERP system (Syteline) is a strong asset
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Initiate and manage change
- Strong work ethic
- Functional bilingualism (English and French), both oral and written, is required
