Dogtopia of Don Valley is looking for energetic, organized, and enthusiastic groomers to join our team. This is a key role within our business and we work hard to deliver top customer service and ensure a great environment for the dogs in our care.

**Required Experience**:

- 2-5 years of experience in a professional grooming setting with references or 1 year experience post formal instruction/certification from a professional Groomer or reputable grooming school.

**Required Skills and Abilities**:

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to physically and comfortably interact with dogs.
- Ability to bend, stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Ability to offer outstanding and consistent customer service.
- Ability to groom dogs of all sizes/breeds, to proper breed standard, or to customer request.

**About the Groomer Role**:

- Professionally perform grooming services including, brushing, bathing, ear and teeth cleaning, expression of anal glands and nail trims.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of dogs in your care.
- Utilize grooming equipment and tools.
- Assist with building the grooming business (ie: greet customers upon arrival, etc)
- Ensure grooming salon cleanliness and perform routine housekeeping to maintain appearance of the grooming salon.
- Demonstrate a sincere concern and sense of urgency to remedy any problem a customer may have.
- Learn and use clients’ and pets’ names; know pet habits and sensitivities.
- Ensure safety and security of the dogs by using proper restraints and grooming procedures.
- Complete all grooms on time. Pets are completely dried and groomed according to the client’s instructions.
- Record accurately health and behavioral notes in pet files and communicate those with both Shift Lead and with customers in a professional manner.
- You will be helping us cultivate a brand-new grooming program, so having an open-mind and the ability to evolve with the position is a must
