Reporting to the Leader, Workforce Optimization, the Employee Development Coordinator, supports the design, development, implementation and evaluation of strategic workforce programs in Operational Services aligning employee and leader development opportunities across the department.
The Employee Development Coordinator helps to shape the skills and growth of Operational Services workforce by planning, developing and implementing cross departmental programs and learning and development initiatives. This position conducts needs assessments, plans and designs innovative and collaborative solutions, develops materials, and evaluates the effectiveness of programs and Initiatives. Primary duties include:
- Collaborate with Operational Excellence and other interested parties across the department to align and integrate strategic workforce programs with other initiatives happening in the business units.
- Plan, coordinate and execute programs and events across the department engaging with BUs and aligning corporately.
- Conduct research, complete needs assessments, engage relevant corporate partners, and determine performance and learning objectives in designing workforce development programs and initiatives.
- Contribute to the integration of key skill sets into employee, leader and workforce development processes such as onboarding, knowledge management, leadership development, and training.
- Collaborate with corporate teams to support successful delivery of corporate programs, ensuring operational needs are considered throughout the design process.
- Manage the Learning Management System for departmental initiatives, supporting leaders and business units in running reports, uploading completions, and aligning work across the department.
- Design, create and deliver workshops and presentations based on relevant workforce development needs, trends, and requirements in formats that are suited to the target audience.
- Design and create effective learning resources such as learner and facilitator guides, exercises, presentations, e-courses, job aids, etc.
- Design and implement assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of department workforce development initiatives.
**Qualifications**
- A degree in Adult Learning, Human Resources, Education, Business, or a related field, with at least 3 years of experience related to adult learning, training and employee development, human resources or organizational development.
- Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required.
- Preference will be given to applicants with a strong background in adult learning theory, program evaluation, project management and change management.
- Certification as a Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) or similar certification is considered an asset.
- Experience with content authoring software (such as Adobe InDesign, Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise) and developing e-learning would be considered an asset.
- Success in this position requires excellent communication and collaboration skills, interpersonal skills, strategic thinking skills, along with facilitation and presentation skills.

work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
