Barn Manager

Toronto Equestrian North is looking for an experienced barn manager for its busy riding school in King, Ontario.

Responsibilities will include:
**Horse Care & Facility Operations**
- Performing regular wellness checks on horses
- Supervising feeding schedules, turn in / turn out, hay & water
- Organizing farrier, vet, bodyworkers, saddle fit, etc.
- Medication administration (under vet guidance)
- Ensuring safe + clean barn environment daily
- Ensuring quality control of stalls, and paddocks & arena upkeep
- Maintaining accurate records for all horses.

**Staff Oversight**
- Hiring, supporting, guiding, and training barn staff
- Daily task delegation, shift organization, coverage planning
- Upholding barn standards and enforcing policies consistently
- Coordinating weekly barn chore checklists + ensuring completion
- Providing support to the team as needed

**Inventory & Ordering**
- Keeping feed, hay, shavings, supplements stocked
- Procuring supplies as needed
- Ordering supplies as needed within budget

**Communication & Operations**
- Reporting horse health concerns immediately
- Liaising with coaches + management on scheduling and facility use
- Being the “eyes and ears” of daily barn life
- Scheduling farrier/vet visits and wellness maintenance
- Demonstrated barn management or senior stable hand experience required
- A comprehensive understanding of equine nutrition and equine first aid
- Experience managing a team
- Facility management experience
- A strong knowledge of horse care, injury signs, nutrition & barn safety
- Confident leadership skills
- Exceptional time management, organization and communication skills
- Be proactive and reliable
- Excellent customer service skills, and familiarity with the needs of a riding school environment

This is a salaried position, and includes benefits. Work days may include statutory holidays.

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
