Job Summary:
The Distribution Stocker works in the distribution area of the Food Bank to check and refill food stocks and in the warehouse to help with receiving, weighing, sorting, and storing donated and purchased food. The Distribution Stocker plays a vital role in ensuring that fridges, freezers, and shelves are organized and stocked at the beginning of each shift for the Distribution team. Throughout the shift, the Distribution Stocker will prioritize replenishing empty fridges, freezers, and shelves for the distribution teams. When the Distribution Stocker is not working on replenishing, they will work with the warehouse team ensuring that the food stock is organized, up to Food Bank standards, and safe for consumption.

- Physical strength and stamina, high energy, and ability to lift food items repeatedly
- Commitment to mission and program goals of The Sharing Place Food Centre
- Commitment to working for and with community members struggling with a low-income and diverse cultural groups
- Commitment to providing a high standard of service and an atmosphere of respect and dignity
- Ability to refrain from passing judgment on individuals
- Friendly and welcoming manner
- Capacity to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and take initiative, as well as work cooperatively within a team, as directed
- Able to problem solve and remain flexible within a steady paced and changing environment

Schedule: We are seeking reliable and committed individuals who can come in for one 4-to-5-hour shift per week for at least 3-6 months. Available shifts are Monday, Wednesday, or Friday from 8:30-12:30 pm.
