Part Time Ophthalmic Technician

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Accurately performing patient screening/testing:
- History, Visual Acuity, Pupil Assessment, Instilling drops, etc.
- Accurately performing diagnostic testing: OCT scan, Optos Imaging an asset but not required
- Explaining the purpose of each test and demonstrating proactive assessment
- Assisting in minor procedures
- Communicating with patients regarding follow-up care, pre and post-operative care, testing, changes in appointment times etc
- Daily chart review for upcoming appointments to ensure efficient clinic flow
- Pulling and checking chart for accuracy
- Returning phone calls to patients and other healthcare professionals in a timely manner
- Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of Ophthalmic/Optometry experience is preferred
**Skills**
- Excellent patient skills
- Strong computer skills, with previous EMR experience is an asset
- Ability to quickly grasp and adapt to new procedures and programs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivation to deliver high quality results, attention to detail is a must
- A cheerful, friendly and professional attitude to patients and staff
**Position details - **This is a permanent part time position, with flex rotating hours - No evenings and weekends. Clinic hours are 8:30am - 4:00pm
**Job Type**: Part-time
**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
