**Facilities Lead**, supporting offices in Philadelphia, Oregon, Michigan, British Columbia and Ontario to name a few. This is an
**in-office** position working from our
**Guelph, Ontario **office.

RWDI is not your everyday engineering firm, we thrive on tackling complex problems and working towards more sustainable development. We are instrumental in the development of some of the world’s most prominent architectural wonders. We conduct studies on the tallest towers, longest bridges, and most world-renowned sports stadia.

Our Guelph facility houses three of our wind tunnels, a beautiful piazza, staff gym and cafeteria.

The
**Facilities Lead** is accountable to the Facilities Director and provides high-quality facilities services. The incumbent is responsible for physical building related items, shipping and receiving, furniture, as well as the physical safety of the buildings. Internally, the holder of the position will enforce security rules, follow-up on building and facility requests, facilitate negotiation with vendors and contractors, and coordinate any personnel necessary to carry out assigned projects. This role supports offices across North America, working primarily out of the Guelph Office.

**In this role you will be**:

- Coordinating facility services such as building maintenance and repair, custodial services, delivery services, security systems, HVAC and equipment maintenance
- Conducting basic maintenance, installations, and repairs such as changing light bulbs, clearing ice & snow, installing cable trays and unclogging drains
- Managing facilities requests via a ticketing system ensuring timely resolution
- Managing facilities related external vendors, contractors, and subcontractors and ensure they meet and follow safety policy requirements
- Assist planning and coordinating office moves/relocations
- Managing an accurate inventory of all physical assets related to the facilities, reports on their condition, and make recommendations for future capital purchases
- Ensuring compliance with local jurisdictional building codes, standards and lease agreements
- Evaluating, advising, acquiring installing and maintaining a variety of furniture, shelving, fixtures, equipment, and supplies
- Conducting facility safety and physical security inspections (fire systems, heating, HVAC, salt) and following-up on observations
- Participating in workstation planning including assessing staff placements, spatial layouts, and on/offboarding procedures
- Maintaining accurate floor plans and seating maps
- Working closely with IT to coordinate physical moves of workstations, data cabling, etc.
- Advising the Facilities Director on budget and industry best practices, and facilitates their implementation

**What we are looking for in you**:

- High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent and/or relevant work experience
- 5+ years of experience
- Valid G driver’s licence
- Must be able to wear and use appropriate person protective equipment as necessary
- Asset: Relevant BOMA or IMFA Certification
- Experience providing facilities and/or physical safety support for large buildings and managing external contractors/vendors
- Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability reading and understand drawings
- Capacity to quickly learn new software
- Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated initiative to address issues as they arise
- Well-developed organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to perform maintenance and light repairs on a variety of furniture and equipment
- Demonstrated ability to lift 35kg manually
- Asset: Experience with security systems including security patrols, alarm systems, cameras, and fob systems
- Asset: Trained on Working at Heights, Ladder training, and Fall arrest training
- Asset: Lift truck training an asset
