**MERCHANDISE PLANNER**

At Bootlegger, our Merchandise Planner works closely with buying and allocation, acting as the financial backbone of the cross functional team and playing a key role in sales analysis, future season planning, in season analysis, promotional and markdown management, and key item planning - all with a focus on profitability.

Merchandise Planners develop seasonal, monthly and unit plans by department and classification that are consistent with the goals and objectives of the company plan merging the science of analysis and the art of fashion with a focus of turning interesting into actionable.

**What you’ll be a part of**

As Bootlegger’s Merchandise Planner you will be responsible for;
- Effectively managing assigned department/class by controlling open to buy, inventory levels and deliveries through communication with the buyer with a goal of maximizing profitability
- Developing seasonal merchandise strategies with buyers using historical data and current trends focusing on sales, markdowns, inventory turns and inventory flow plans
- Developing and re-planning key item strategies and plans by working with the buyers, using historical and market analysis, and recommending markdowns and promotions as needed
- Ensuring proper analysis of the business from the prior season by preparing post-season hindsight recaps
- Assisting in the preparation of financial and store analysis as required
- Utilizing strong communication skills to turn data into actionable strategies and gain buy in from various stakeholders

**The right fit**
- Previous merchandise planning experience with a thorough understanding of the retail buying process
- Strong analytical and numerical reasoning skills; excellent knowledge of retail mathematics
- Highly effective prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deliverables
- Proven ability to prepare business proposals with a blend of focused research, strategy and creativity
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Energetic, self-motivated, and results-oriented
- Proven team player who is both flexible and adaptable
